Healthier Chocolate Crunch Bars

Healthy-candy-FICandy bars aren’t exactly the first thing that comes to mind when you hear ‘clean eating‘, right?

Well today I’m going to give you a treat of a recipe that will convince even the biggest skeptic that eating a clean diet is NOT about depriving your taste buds!

It’s just in time for Halloween and is infinitely better for you than the ones you’ll find being dropped in those plastic pumpkins.

Now, I do want to say that this recipe is one you’ll want to limit yourself on if you’re working to release weight. These are treats and should be regarded as such.

Still, it’s a better option than the mass marketed, chemical filled candy bars you’ll find at every turn in the coming weeks.

Makes 6 thick bars

1/2 cup organic raw cacao powder

1/2 cup organic coconut oil

1/4 cup organic maple syrup (+ 1 tablespoon)

1 cup organic brown rice cereal

1 teaspoon organic vanilla bean powder

1 pinch Himalayan pink salt

Add melted coconut oil and cacao powder, maple syrup, vanilla bean powder and Himalayan pink salt to a medium sized bowl and stir until smooth and creamy.

Gently stir in the brown rice cereal.

Evenly distribute the mixture into chocolate molds (ice cube trays work too) making sure the brown rice cereal is even distributed and sinks to the bottom of the mold then put it in the freezer for 30 minutes, or until the chocolate hardens.

So, now you’re armed with a great recipe to beat those chocolate temptations that abound this time of year. You may or may not choose to share these, that’s entirely up to you! 😉

Yours in Health,

P.S. Please share these with your friends and I always enjoy reading your comments below.
